Not every lamination product is meant for a VFFS flow machine. What goes inside the laminated Pouch determines the style of pouch necessary for optimal “stand up” functionality.
Lamination Pouches
K-Style Pouch
- Triangular sealed shape at the bottom of the bag.
- Additional skirt seal that runs along the bottom of the bag.
- This foundation enables the packaged product to help support the stand-up pouch.
- Works best with products that weigh between 2-5 LBS.
Doyen-Style Pouch
- Half circle shaped seals at the bottom of the bag.
- This foundation enables the packaged product to help support the stand-up pouch.
- Works best with grains and refined products.
- Works best with products that weigh 2 LBs or less.
Plow-Bottom Pouch
- Only triangular seals on the corners of the bottom of the bag
- No skirt seal running along the bottom of the bag
- Product sits flush on the bottom of the Pouch
- Works best with heavy products
3-Side Seal Pouch
- Sealed fully on three sides (no bottom gusset)
- Bag cannot stand on its own
- Can be top or bottom loaded
- Works best with products that do not need to sit on shelves
