Cousins Abe Golshirazian and Nejat Rahmani immigrated to the United States from Iran in the 1970s in search of a better life. Settling in Boston, Massachusetts, they worked tirelessly to adapt to their new environment—learning English, taking on various odd jobs, and earning engineering degrees, all while navigating the challenges of life in a new country. After graduating, they were ready to embark on their next adventure: building a business of their own.

With no prior experience in the packaging industry, Abe and Nejat seized an opportunity to purchase a small plastic bag manufacturing business in Brooklyn, NY. Operating out of a modest 1,200-square-foot space with just one machine, they took on every role themselves. Over the next decade, through persistence and door-to-door outreach, they grew the business and eventually relocated to a larger warehouse in Oceanside, NY, where they expanded into printed plastic packaging.

By 2008, the company had outgrown its space once again and moved into a 40,000-square-foot facility in Hauppauge, NY. This transition enabled Abe and Nejat to offer more sophisticated and highly customized printed packaging solutions, serving customers across the United States. The company continued to thrive, and as it grew, it became clear that the next generation was ready to join the family business.

In 2015, Abe’s two youngest sons joined Josh Packaging to spearhead modernization efforts. Six years later, in 2021, Nejat’s son and Abe’s two older sons also joined the team, further solidifying the company’s legacy as a family-owned and operated enterprise.

Over three decades, Abe and Nejat transformed Josh Packaging into a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, distinguished by advanced technology, efficient operations, and exceptional customer service.
